Early voting has concluded with 6,686 Natchitoches Parish votes cast. Here is the breakdown: 4405 were white, 1999 were black and 282 were other race. Also, 2,858 were male and 3,828 were female; 2611 were Democrat, 2,872 Republican and 1,203 other parties. Of the total, 5,755 were in person and 931 absentee ballots were returned. There are a total of 23,769 eligible voters in the parish, which means 28 percent went to the polls early. Statewide, 960,561 voters went to the polls early.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, with the polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those who are voting by mail-in/ absentee ballot are reminded the ballots must be returned via mail or hand delivered by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4.
