“Americans should always honor our veterans. At this moment, we especially need the example of their character. And we need a new generation to set examples of its own, examples in service and sacrifice and courage. These veterans have shaped our history, and with their values, your generation will help guide our future.”? George W. Bush On Monday please take to attend or participate in one of the Veterans Day programs in our community. At the very least pause, for a moment and give thanks to those who served in our military Originally called Armistice Day, it began as an occasion to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service. It falls on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I. In 1954, the name of the holiday was changed to “Veterans Day” in order to recognize veterans of all wars.
Monday let’s join others as we celebrate and honor Americas Veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
