Cane River resident Dominick Metoyer came upon this eagle in the southbound lane of La Hwy.1 last week and managed to get this picture. There were two eagles soaring together but only this one stopped in the highway. They can be seen year-round in Louisiana and are usually around marshes, lakes, coats and rivers. Water provides good fishing and tall trees are good for nesting sites....
