Elizabeth Colson Lyles of Missouri City, Texas, was born on August 5, 1947 to parents, Joseph Colson and Catherine Conant, in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, where she attended Natchitoches Central and St. Mathews High Schools. She was joined in marriage to Mr. Nathaniel Lyles Jr on April 6, 1987. She departed this life on October 8, 2024.
She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved fiercely, and effortlessly created endearing memories for her family. She was preceded in death by her mother Catherine Conant Coutee, brothers Joseph Colson, Jr. and Bobby Conant, sister Linda Conant, and grandson Jonathan Nitsch. She is cherished in memory by those who remain: her husband, Nathaniel Lyles Jr, her siblings, Mary Roxanne Colson and James Conant, Jr., her children Desie Nitsch (Mike), Edward Metoyer, Jr. (Ermita), and daughter Stephanie King (Eddie); grandchildren Dana Allen (Jermaine), Jason Nitsch (Amanda), Gabrielle, Sophia, and Leea Metoyer, Grace and Emma King; uncle Charles Conant (Brenda) and aunt Veronica Metoyer; and a host of extended family and friends. Her kindness and spirit will live on in the hearts who were blessed to know her.
A Memorial Mass was held on October 18, 2024 at Holy Family Church in Missouri City Tx. Final interment will be at St. Augustine Church on January 4, 2025 11 a.m., 1 hour after the 9 a.m. Mass.
