Bobby Ray Jenkins April 1, 1935Sept. 13, 2025

Bobby Ray Jenkins, 90, of Robeline, LA passed away peacefully in his home on Sept 13, 2025. He was born to Willis and Lucille Jenkins on April 1, 1935, in Robeline.

Bobby worked for many years in the logging industry, cutting timber. He loved hunting, fishing, baseball and softball. He loved being outside and spending time with his family. He was a spiritual man and had a strong belief in God and the power of prayer. He prayed day and night. He loved kids, especially babies and loved helping with his grandbabies.

He was handy at building and fixing anything and everything. He loved the holidays, and Easter was especially his favorite. He would often give advice and one of his favorite sayings was, “I’m not telling you what to do but …”. He was as tough as nails, he was a hard worker, he never backed down from anything and never let anything slow him down.

His favorite person was his twin sister Betty Mae Powell; they shared an incredible bond. They took care of each other. When she passed away it was almost too much for him to bear. A few days before he passed his kids expressed how sorry they were to him and he said, “You don’t need to be sorry for me, the good Lord is going to take me home and Mama and Daddy and Betty Mae and Herman and Vernon and Michael are waiting for me.”

He had strong faith in the Lord, and we know he is enjoying a great family reunion.

Bobby is survived by his daughters, Peggy Sparks and husband Pete, Melanie Malley and husband Jeff, and son Nathan Jenkins and wife Jenny; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Bobby will be missed for his quick wit, bright smile and oneof- a-kind sayings. His door was literally always open.

His funeral will be Saturday, Sept.20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2084 Natchitoches Hwy, Many, Louisiana at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. that morning preceding the funeral. Internment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery immediately following.
