Mrs. Hudson was born Sept. 23, 1946 in Robeline, LA and passed away Jan. 28, 2026.
Sally was a devoted wife and loving mother who cherished time spent with her grandchildren. One of her favorite sayings was, “Laugh to keep from crying,” and she lived by those words—always smiling, always finding light even in difficult moments.
She loved to travel and to be surrounded by family, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures: daily phone calls with her sisters, peaceful walks in the park and weekly gossip sessions with her hairdresser. Sally never met a stranger. She was a friend to everyone, regardless of race, social status, or circumstance and she loved people just as they were.
Kind-hearted and free-spirited, Sally stood firm in her faith. She delighted in dancing carefree around the kitchen, filling her home with laughter and love. These are the moments we will miss the most—and the ones we will forever cherish in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hudson Sr.; parents Martin and Vivian Crow; seven brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her children: Rhonda Maddox of Campti, LA, Sylvia “Nycee” Hudson of Campti, Gene Hudson Jr. and wife Melissa of Campti, Cindy Adams and husband Buckey of Columbia, MS and Terry Hudson and wife, Elizabeth of Columbia, MS; two sisters, Shirley Foster of Dallas, TX and Julia Byles of Thibodeaux, LA; grandchildren: Greg “Tootie” Cardenas Jr., Ashley Hudson, Austin “Buck” Hudson, Charles “Charlie” Hudson, Kayleigh Robertson, Langston Hudson, MacDaniel Robertson, and Janna Hudson; eight great-grandchildren; best friend Susie Ezernack; and her special companions, Tippy, Lil Bit, Bizkit, Bam-Bam, Henry and Mack.
