Funeral services for Diane Dryden Saffel, 67, of Campti, LA were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27at Creston Baptist Church with Bro. Truman Leach officiating and Buster Jordan assisting. Interment followed in the United Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 at Creston Baptist Church. Services were under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, LA.
Mrs. Saffel was born Oct. 8, 1956 in Pineville, LA and passed away Dec. 22, 2023. Diane was one-of-a-kind soul that you don’t see much of anymore, she faithfully believed in love and family. She was married to the love of her life, Danny, for 51 years.
She was a retired bus driver where she took care of the community’s children for over 35 years. All her children adored her. Her only daughter Misty was the light of her life and she would tell you quick Misty was her greatest accomplishment in life.
She was a beloved MeMe to her two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous kids she helped raise through the years. Her family was the one thing in her life she cherished above all things, she was the good in the family. She always had a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear for all your troubles. Her love and compassion will live on through her family forever.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Alice Dryden and grandparents Camille Normand and Winnie Legget; parents, Jessie Dryden and Ina Mae Gauthier; and brother, Roger Dryden.
Mrs. Saffel is survived by her husband of 51 years, Danny Saffel; daughter, Misty Morgan and husband, Alex; two grandchildren: Katie Litton and husband, Ernie and Richard Gourdon and wife, Maxie; three great grandchildren: Cameron, Corbin and Georgia Grace Litton; sister, Madeline Graham; special niece, Christy Hodges; special nephew, Dereal “Boogie” Baker; and an abundance of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trey Stanley, Larry Litton, Cody Nealy, Cameron Litton, Corbin Litton, and Justin Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Lyles, Mason Hodges, Boogie Baker, and Mike Blackmon.
