Edwin Blewer, a beloved and wellknown resident of Coushatta, LA, departed this life on Oct. 12, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on Sept. 15, 1944, in Natchitoches, LA, He embraced life with a unique spirit and found joy in the simple pleasures that surrounded him.
Edwin enjoyed participating in church services at Green Meadow Haven Nursing Home, where he also formed lasting connections with the caregivers and fellow residents, who are regarded as honorary friends. Although he suffered from a disability, it never stopped him from doing things for himself and others.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and kinship, nurtured through his interactions with family and friends.
Edwin is survived by his brother, Ronnie Glenn Blewer Sr. and his wife Darlene of Campti, LA; nephew, Ronnie Glenn Blewer Jr. and his wife Anjanette of Houston, TX; and nieces Gwen Huff and her husband Charles of Vidalia, LA, Kathy Oliveaux of West Monroe, LA, Angie Gunter and her husband Barry of Natchez, LA, and Tanya Jenkins and her husband Micky of Vidalia, LA. He is also survived by his sisterin- law, Beth Blewer of Campti, a special beloved aunt, Liza Walker of Coushatta, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Deloy and Ella Dickson Blewer; sisters Elaine Blewer and Bettie Withers; and brother, Deloyce Blewer.
Funeral services for Edwin Blewer will be Friday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, with Bro. Olan McLaren officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Fair View Alpha. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, Oct. 17, from 12 noon until service time at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
As we remember Edwin, we celebrate the connections he made throughout his life and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all.
