James “Chad” Robinson, 51, of Plain Dealing, LA passed away on Jan. 7, 2024. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at First Baptist Church in Plain Dealing officiated by Rev. Mark Robinson and Rev. Justin Terry. Burial will follow at Old Sarepta Cemetery. A time of visitation will be Friday, Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
Chad was born Nov. 23, 1972 in Shreveport, LA. He grew up in Montgomery, LA where he graduated from Montgomery High School. He worked as a certified crane operator for Universal Plant Services; he was currently working in Port Arthur, TX. Chad, whose nickname was “Trick,” will be remembered as someone who was friendly, funny, a jokester and someone that was fun to be around. He never met a stranger and had an infectious smile. Chad enjoyed farming and running tractors and he loved riding in his boat on Lake Greeson in Arkansas. He loved his friends and family and was exceptionally close to his sons. Being a dad was his favorite thing in life. Chad also had a strong faith and he loved the Lord.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Joe Cecil and Frances Robinson, and Brenner and Billie Ray Bordelon, and his best friend Billy Joe Baker.
He is survived by his parents, Wiley Joe and Abby Robinson and Will and Fran Glenos; his sons Haden and Cade; his sister Malana Jester and husband Josh; his brother Cody Robinson and wife Shannon; his stepbrother Jordan Hughes and wife Monica; his step- sisters, Sarah Westfall and husband Mike and Sybil Gyengo and husband Mike; his nieces and nephews Harley Reed, Rowdy Jester, Conner Robinson, Carlie Jo Robinson and Taylor Roach and husband Landon and a special great niece Palmer Jo.
The family would like to give special thanks and love to his best friend Kelli Jo, and to Somer and Tom Gongre and Heather and Rusty Mixon.
Pallbearers will be Harley Reed, Conner Robinson, Lance Lowe, Chad Young, Hunter Burns, Jeff Richardson, Justin Rushing and Josh Jester. Honorary pallbearers are Rowdy Jester, Brenner Robinson, and all of his crew and close friends at Universal Plant Services.
