Funeral services for Jean Freeman, 91, of Coushatta, LA were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Waters officiating. Interment followed in Lambertown Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, LA.
Mrs. Freeman was born May 23, 1933 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away Feb. 14, 2025. Mrs. Freeman enjoyed the outdoors, especially her gardening. She took great pride in her flowers, even watching them grow from seeds. She spent many enjoyable hours listening to Jimmy Swaggart’s ministry and his music. She was a devout Christian lady living her life by example. Mrs. Freeman was a very talented lady who not only excelled in playing the piano, organ and guitar but also in playing multiple other instruments. She not only loved the Lord but also loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years at the time of his passing, Rev. Charles H. Freeman; daughter, Joy Ann Johns; sons, Charles Roy Freeman, Hershell Lynn Freeman, Gary Wane Freeman and Marvin Louis Freeman; parents, Thad and Jettie Geter; brothers, Roy Geter and Charles Geter; and sisters, Doris Alawine, Mildred Dowden, Renie Tyson, Annalee Armstrong, and Margie Woodson.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by one daughter, Nelda Freeman Putek and husband, James; one brother, Thad “Bubba” Geter; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.
Pallbearers and Honorary pallbearers were her great grandsons.
