Marlin “Doddle” Caston Nov. 14, 1935March 28, 2026

Marlin “Doodle” Caston, 90, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Mansfield, LA. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 1,at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Burial followed at Barber Cemetery.

Officiating the services was the Rev. Weyland Gauntt and the Rev.Tony Kittrell. The family received friends from 1p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Doddle Caston was born Nov. 14, 1935 in DeSoto Parish to Lawrence and Berta Caston and passed away March 28, 2026 at his home with family by his side in Mansfield.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Doodle was a devoted school bus driver for over 21 years for DeSoto Parish.

He enjoyed his store, Doodle’s Grocery. He was a mason for over 60 years. Doodle proudly service as deacon for 50 years at Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield,. He also served DeSoto Parish on the DeSoto Parish Policy Jury for 16 years and served as president for four years.

Doddle was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Avery Sr. and Berta Rodgers Caston; brother Lawrence Caston, Jr.; son-in-law Carl Sullivan Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 71 years Mazie Caston; daughter Kay Sullivan; nephew Gary; nieces Judy and Kim; sister-in-law Deborah Caston; and host of cousins.

Honoring Doddle as pallbearers will be his Masonic brothers.
