Just My Imagination The Rolling Stones
This song was going through my head for no apparent reason. A devotional topic – maybe, I thought. Let’s see – “It was just my imagination, once again. Running away from me.” The Temptations also recorded it but I like the Stones’ rendition.
I’m unclear if today’s kids have the living imagination the neighborhood kids and I had growing up in Natchitoches, Louisiana. We had hideouts within vines and blackberry bushes. We had tree houses. We had secret meeting places among pine tree clusters. We imagined all manner of fun things. We felt totally safe. No TV or mobile phones. No video/mobile games. Imagination was all we needed to enjoy childhood.
