LWF honors Conservation Achievement Award recipients

Louisiana Wildlife Federation’s (LWF) 59th Conservation Achievement Awards Program recognized five individuals, and two organizations selected for their significant achievements in natural resources conservation and education at a banquet, held in Baton Rouge on Friday, April 25.

Eight athletes from Northwestern State as well as a pair of relay teams are on the way to Florida in the coming week as they all are slated to compete in the NCAA East Regionals on the campus of North Florida.

This Memorial weekend The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement Division reminds folks to practice safe boating.During 2020-24, there were 96 boating fatalities with an average age of 48. To date in 2025, Louisiana has reported five boating fatalities.

Eighth innings tell the tale in Demons’ Southland Conference Tournament split

It was a tale of two eighth innings for the Northwestern State baseball team Saturday at the Southland Conference Tournament. One was a scintillating seven-run rally that lifted the Demons to an 11-8 victory over top-seeded Southeastern Louisiana in an elimination game Saturday afternoon.
