The start was not the problem for the Northwestern State men’s basketball team Monday night. Maintaining that momentum was much more of a challenge.The Demons broke from the gates quickly against Southland Conference-leading McNeese at the Legacy Center, scoring the first eight points of the game.

Tennis challenges Tulane in loss

The Northwestern State tennis team found itself on the wrong side of a close contest, dropping a 4-3 decision at Tulane on Sunday.“Sometimes we compete our best and do all the right things, but on the other side you have someone who wants to win as well,” said first year head coach Marcos Morelli.

Justin Cooper of Sabine Parish will begin his first season in the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour on his home lake, Toledo Bend Reservoir.Cooper, who grew up on the northern side of the parish in the Converse area, is a father, husband, fishing guide and full-time angler.

Northwestern State football team added four new faces ahead of the spring semester.Joining the Demons for the 2024 season are transfer Blake Gotcher, Kekahi Graham, Landry Huddleston and Isaiah Ybarra.The new additions are split equally among offense and defense.
