Judge Desiree Dyess was inducted into the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame last week at Camp Grant Walker Judge Dyess has been involved in 4-H since she was9 years old, and continues to give back to the organization as a member of the Natchitoches Parish 4-H Foundation.

Dog Days of Summer

NSU Soccer team stepped up to the plate Saturday to volunteer at the Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals (FAUNA) monthly dog wash and nail clipping fundraiser at Tractor Supply. Some 100 pups showed up to bask in cooling bath and more.The next dog wash is Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m.

Beautiful things come together one stitch at a time

The Natchitoches Parish 4-H first sewing camp was a huge success! We would like to thank Jesse Parr, NSU Costume Shop, for hosting. The students had so much fun learning basic seams, pressing techniques, naming the parts of the machine and creating a cute tissue holder.

Just Released: Folksy tale based on true Sabine court case of 1896

A new book, The Stranger Who Called Himself God, has been released by Robert Gentry of Many, a journalist for more than 60 years. He was publisher of The Sabine Index for more than 45 years and also worked as a reporter for The Natchitoches Times during his time as a college student at Northwestern.
