August brought 11 consecutive days of 100 degree temps

A potent, hot high pressure dome that meandered across Oklahoma then across north Texas into New Mexico during Aug. 20 thru Aug. 25 contributed to eleven 100 degrees or temperatures (some consecutive days) in Natchitoches, which included the following observed afternoon temperatures: •Aug. 21: 105 degrees being a new daily record;
