The City of Natchitoches would like to inform the public of upcoming road closures in preparation for the Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival, taking place Sept. 18-19, in the downtown area.
The riverbank will close to vehicular traffic at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, to allow for festival setup and will remain closed until the conclusion of the event on Saturday night. Beginning Friday, Sept. 18, at 6 a.m., Front Street (from Church Street to Trudeau Street and from Church Street up to St. Denis Street) will close to vehicular traffic and remain closed until the conclusion of the festival. St. Denis Street will remain open for traffic.
The Church Street bridge and Williams Ave. (from Whitfield to Henry Ave.) will close to all traffic at 9 p.m. for fireworks over Cane River Lake. The Church Street bridge and these streets will reopen to vehicular traffic at the conclusion of the fireworks show and once the all clear has been given by the Fire Department.
The City of Natchitoches encourages residents and visitors to plan accordingly and use caution when traveling in the downtown area during the event and associated road closures. For additional event information and updates, please visit the event’s Facebook page, Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival.
