Medical Center offering flu shots

Outpatient Medical Center (OMC) is offering flu vaccines. The annual shot is recommended for all persons aged six months and older. Vaccination is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications. After receiving the vaccine it takes some two weeks for the body to develop full protection against the flu.

OMC sees patients regardless of insurance status. Persons age 18 and younger who are eligible for state-supplied Vaccines for Children (VFC) may receive the vaccine free of charge. A $20 administration fee is requested, however, no one is refused due to inability to pay.

For uninsured persons 19 there is a selfpay fee of $25, which may be reduced for those who qualify for OMC’s sliding fee discount. Those with Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance can bill their insurance.
