Due to ongoing heavy rainfall, all rural schools in Natchitoches Parish including Natchitoches Central High School, will be closed Thursday, Jan 25. This includes Fairview Alpha Elementary, Goldonna Elementary/Jr. High, Lakeview Jr./Sr. High, Marthaville Elementary/Jr. High, Natchitoches Central, and Provencal Elementary/Jr. High. All other schools will remain open. NPSB officials made the decision to close these schools due to possible flooding on rural bus routes causing unsafe conditions for buses. Student safety is our greatest responsibility and this decision was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all students and staff. Officials also understand there are students that live in these rural areas who attend other schools in the district. All principals will work with parents to excuse absences due to road conditions Thursday. All schools will reopen on Friday, Jan. 26.
