Library, health unit, public buildings may be put on ballot again

Although propositions supporting Public Buildings, Library and the Health Unit did not pass in the May 16 election, they may get another chance.

Native son returns to library to sign copies of his poetry collection on Saturday

Natchitoches native Lawrence Irchirl Jr. will sign copies of his debut poetry collection, Poetic Peace: The Heart-felt Edition, at the Natchitoches Parish Library’s (NPL) Main Branch on Saturday, May 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Kindergarten kids, those through 6th can learn music at camp

Northwestern State University’s Department of Music will sponsor two sessions of summer music camp starting in June for children in kindergarten through grade six Music Around the World will be on June 22-26 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Performing Arts Complex. The camp is $150.
