The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the following lane closures have been scheduled for I49 southbound at the Pierremont Road/Hollywood Avenue interchange (Exit 203) in Shreveport:•Tuesday, Aug.

Work progressing on Second Street; will be done before Car Show in Oct.

Traffic may soon be running again on Second Street in front of the Central Fire Station but the work will finished by the Natchitoches Car Show .At the City Council meeting Monday, City Engineer Nick Verret said he was anticipating opening the north lane until unstable soil was discovered.

Cane River Waterway Commission posts agenda for Aug. 18 meeting

The Cane River Waterway Commission will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, at 1483 Hwy. 119 in Natchez, Louisiana.The commission, pursuant to RS 42:14/42:19A, will allow a public comment period prior to action on an agenda item upon which a vote is to be taken.

Northwestern and Krewe of 9 plan science, technology camp
