Honor the history and meanng of the American Flag

Flag Day takes place every year on June 14, in honor of the adoption of the American flag in 1777. To celebrate Flag Day, get a high-quality American flag and display it in a prominent location outside of your home. Raise the flag at sunrise and lower it at sunset to adhere to the U.S. Flag Code.

Red, White and Blue

The flag’s 13 red and white stripes represent the 13 original colonies. Its 50 white stars on a blue background represent the 50 states.

The 13 folds of the U.S. Flag

If you’ve ever attended a military funeral, perhaps you noticed that the honor guards pay meticulous attention to folding the U.S. flag that once draped the casket. Guards make crisp, precise folds a total of 13 times to complete the ceremony.

Flag Etiquette

While the American flag makes a beautiful decor option, it’s important to follow proper flag etiquette when displaying it. The flag should never touch the ground, water, or any surface beneath it.
