Deadline approaching to register for R.A.D. self defense class

The Natchitoches Police Department will host a three-day R.A.D. Self Defense class beginning in August.The classes will be:• Aug. 13, 20 and 27 from 6-9 p.m. The deadline to register is July 31.

NPD investigating shooting on Hill Avenue that leaves man shot inarm

On July 22, around 9:29 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Hill Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon officers’ arrival they located the victim who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to their arm.

NPD arrests suspect in homicide that occurred in Theofield Alley

The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Timothy Thomas (B/M, 27 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for a homicide that occurred earlier this year on Theophile Alley.Thomas is charged with Second Degree Murder. He was placed in the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.On Jan.

The Natchitoches Police Department Narcotics Division has arrested Gregory Tyler (B/M, 34 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for unlawful handling of a machine gun.On May 12, around 7 a.m.

NSU will have Notary Public prep class in August

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Engagement will offer a Notary Public Exam Prep class starting Aug. 17. Early bird registration is available through July 28 at a cost of $499. After July 28, registration will continue through Aug. 11 at a cost of $519.
