Early Voting Begins March 15

Early voting is March 15-22 (excluding Sunday, March 16) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.The deadline to request an absentee ballot is March 25 by 4:30 p.m (other than military and overseas voters).

Last Wednesday, Betty Whitehead and myself went to the Young at Heart gathering at First Methodist Church on Second Street.This was my first time to visit this event. They meet on the first Wednesday of the month and they have entertainment. This time they had “Home Grown Tomaters”.

School board approves NJH, Goldonna school closures

Amid discussion that were at times heated, the Natchitoches Parish School Board approved the shuttering of Goldonna Elementary/Junior High and Natchitoches Jr. High (NJH) at the close of the school year. Such action took place during the March 13 meeting.
