BESE board names officers

The Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) has elected its Board officers for 2025. Members re-elected District 6 BESE member Ronnie Morris president, elected District 4 member Stacey Melerine vice president, and elected District 7 member Kevin Berken secretary-treasurer.

Sunday, Malcolm and I had to leave early from church to attend a baby shower for Bridget and Oliver Henry at Bellwood Baptist Church. We had finger foods and played games. Then Bridget opened the presents for the baby. She received lots of nice baby gifts.

The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church will be holding its annual Christmas Banquet Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in P.W. Turner Fellowship Hall located at 108 Church St in Natchez. There will be entertainment, door prizes and food. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and younger.
