NSU Summer Theatre to present ‘Country Summer Nights’

The NSU Summer Dinner Theatre will present the music revue “Country Summer Nights” July 14-18 and 21-25 on the stage of the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. Doors op en at 5:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 6 p.m. Pia Wyatt is the director. Jason Thomas is the musical director.Tickets are $60.

NSU will offer ‘Pick Up Your Brush’ painting class in July and August

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer Pick Up Your Brush painting classes on July 9, 30 and Aug. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of South Hall. The fee is $45.

Retired officer inducted into National Guard Hall of Fame

Poche Foundation supports anglers at NSU and Cure Sanfilippo Foundation

For the past decade the Dylan Kyle Poche Memorial Foundation has supported Northwestern State University’s competitive bass fishing team, raising money by hosting the DKP Memorial Fishing Tournament on Toledo Bend. But this year’s 10th annual event wasn’t just about fishing and scholarships.

Federal judge sentences local man

On June 26, Perry Willis, 37, of Natchitoches, was sentenced to 292 months in federal prison after his guilty plea to Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine in connection with an eleven-member drug trafficking conspiracy operating in central Louisiana.
