Northwestern State University announces 4.0 students named to Fall 2025 President’s List Northwestern State University announces the names of for the Fall 2025 semester. Students on the President’s List must be enrolled full-time at Northwestern and have a grade point average of 4.0.

Beginning ceramics starts this month

A beginning ceramics class, “Playing in the Mud,” will be offered through Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education starting Jan. 29. The class will be held on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. through March 5 in Room 113 of the Fine Arts Annex.

Family and friends gathered at Knights of Columbus Hall to celebrate John Scott turning _Seventy in Style._ Some 140 folks including nine grandchildren traveled from Texas, Baton Rouge, Lafayette and various points across Natchitoches Parish to commemorate his life-well lived.

Alleged improper behavior prompts ‘immediate termination’

A five-month criminal investigation has led to the arrest of a former Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Deputy, according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.

News last week of two Northwestern men’s basketball program members being involved in a nationwide gambling investigation really stung.The two from Northwestern were not named in the indictment, but there were eight from Louisiana and more than 39 players nationwide named.
