Council hears International Paper tax appeal

Speaking to the Parish Council at its meeting Sept. 21, Parish Assessor Yolanda Reed said that International Paper (IP) is asking for a 50% reduction of its tax bill for the period Jan.1 to March 31 in 2025 and asked her to accept what is called an orderly liquidation value.
