JUST TALKIN’

Not sure how many of us missed the initial story from Oscar Myer…but we can disregard it because they changed their mind.

Oscar Myer is the owner of the legendary “Wienermobile.” For decades the vehicle has crisscrossed the country promoting the hotdog wieners.

Well, sometime back…who knows why…but name was changed to the Frankmobile.

They apparently saw the error of their ways and have changed the name back to its iconic name…the Wienermobile.

JT knows that this doesn’t rank up there with stories like the war in Ukraine or a government shutdown… but it’s just as horrible to mess with this legendary vehicle —— JT is happy to see the renovations are complete for the old Texas and Pacific (T&P) Railroad Depot. A number of attempts to find a suitable use of the historic structure have failed but thanks to the federal government for coming to its rescue.

JT has had an appreciation for train depots around the country and ours here has a unique architecture in addition to his historic signifance.

The building will house the National Park Service Headquarters and is a part of the Civil Rights Trail.

—— JT doesn’t want to scare you…but we may be in line for a toilet paper shortage.

Over the past few days JT has noticed quite a few houses and trees draped in white streamers.

He’s just glad we haven’t had any rain because the cleanup would have really been complicated.

A lot of old pranks, events and even traditions have fallen by the wayside…JT is glad to see this generational event has survived.

—— Just a friendly reminder to our readers that absentee voting starts next Saturday.

Reapportionment has divided Natchitoches Parish so that it looks pretty much like a jigsaw puzzle. A number of state legislators and state senators now have pieces of Natchitoches Parish as part of their districts.

Check out the story on this page and you’ll see what JT is talking about.

You might be surprised to find out now just whose district you are in prior to voting in the October 14 general primary.
