City of Natchitoches Fire Department was dispatched to a Structure Fire at 1815 South Drive Lot 1324 Thursday shortly before 5:30 p.m. Crews from Engines 1 and 2, Rescue 1, T-1, C1, C2 and C4 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a mobile home and residents spraying water from a garden hose on the fire. A pre-connected hose line was pulled from the Engine 1 to extinguish the fire.
The residents had also extinguished most of the fire in the kitchen area prior to fire department arrival, however, firefighters did find hot spots in the walls between the kitchen and the bedroom area. All hot spots were quickly extinguished. NRMC EMS personnel assessed the residents for burn injuries.
