JT doesn’t know how much faith he should put in a recent story he read about “speed trap communities” in Louisiana. Anyway… the article listed eight communities as the most likely place to get a speeding ticket. Missing from that list was Robeline.
There were only two nearby spots on the list. One was in Desoto Parish-Grand Cane and the other was Converse in Sabine Parish.
What really concerned JT though was the cities to make the list that are on his route to Baton Rouge. Washington was at the top while Krotz Springs and Port Barre also made the list.
JT certainly has every intention on using the cruise control more than he did in the past.
—— As much as JT likes to follow politics….he just couldn’t watch the debate on television Tuesday night between Stephen Waguespack… who can’t shake his ties to former Governor Bobby Jindal and Shawn Wilson, who can’t distance himself from his tenure as head of DOTD. It was a waste of television time in JT’s opinion.
There’s another one on Thursday (sponsored by LPB-Louisiana Public Broadcasting and CABL-Council for a Better Louisiana) but again…the front-runner won’t be there.
The only reason JT might watch the next one is to see which of the Republican candidates might be the new governor’s Commissioner of Administration. ..or has that already been decided when Richard Nelson dropped out of the race recently? You might recall in the last governor’s race John Bel Edwards chose former opponent Jay Darden to be his number two man.
—— Speaking of debates….JT sure is enjoying those of the candidates for President from the Republican Party.
They are lively, informative and at times entertaining. Not sure they mean anything with Trump still leading in the polls…but frankly there are some pretty good alternatives.
—— JT’s a big believer in Yogi Berra’s famous saying…. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.
But he believes the fat lady has already left the building when it comes to stopping a government shutdown this weekend.
Barring any last minute heroics…JT sees a shut down, he just doesn’t know for how long. It’s just another example of a dysfunctional group that the public has lost faith in their ability to do their jobs.
After all…part of their job is to keep our government running. A good argument can be made for malfeasance in office.
