The City Council is considering raising garbage pickup rates because of the increase from the current vendor, Waste Management Bayou Inc. The current contract expires Dec. 31 and is a five-year extension of the original contract. The new contract will also have a five yearoption to renew.
Residential singlefamilies are now paying $22.70 per month and the new rate will be $28.17.
