The rain stopped Saturday afternoon long enough for the inaugural Krewe of Excellence Parade to roll through the streets of Natchitoches. The balloons were of Mardi Gras colors purple, green and gold. Cloudy skies didn’t stop these youngsters from strutting along Front Street with hats topped with pink feathers.
