Engineer Randall Smoak was on a business call at Natchez City Hall when he heard the screams of Mayor Patsy Ward Hoover who opened a cabinet to come face to face with this 7 foot cotton mouth on the floor. Smoake grabbed a hoe from the back of a pickup and dealth the snake several fatal blows. Hoover said she had fought a rat infestation in the old building but that did not compare to the snake.
