  • Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #7 and Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Deputies battled a structure fire in the 3700 block of La. Hwy 487 near Marthaville Sunday, May. 12. The call came into NATCOM 911 at approximately 1:56 p.m. Sabine Parish fire fighters were called to assist. There are no injuries reported. According to NPFD #7 Chief Doug Birdwell, the home owned by Kevin and Sonya Parks was a total loss. No one was at home at the time of the fire, however, two of the family dogs perished.
