A routine traffic stop led to the seizure of illegal narcotics and a firearm according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.
On Friday, June 7, around 1:45 p.m., Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau were patrolling along US-71 near Campti when they stopped a 1997 Ford pickup truck for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as 42-year-old Thomas D. Moore of Campti.
