Gervais Aldredge Bouser passed away on Oct. 12, 2025, in Walnut Creek, CA, at the age of 93.
Born March 24, 1932, in Natchitoches, LA, she was the daughter of Elton and Lucille Ford Aldredge.
Gervais is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Bouser; daughter and son-inlaw, M’Lu and Chris Knaus of Walnut Creek, CA; grandsons Ben Knaus (Brittany) of Visalia, CA, and Stephen Knaus of Livermore, CA; and greatg
randdaughter, Lennon Knaus, of Visalia, CA.
She was a graduate of Northwestern State College and received a Master’s Degree from Peabody College in Nashville, TN. A resident of Baton Rouge since 1954, she was a teacher in the East Baton Rouge school system, doing supervision of student teaching for LSU.
A Camp Fire Leader 12 years, she also served as President of the Board of Directors of the Big River Council. She was an 18-year docent at the LSU Rural Life Museum where she served as Docent Chairman twice. An active member of LEDS, Wednesday Club (serving as President twice), Thalians, and the Friendship Coffee Club, she enjoyed presenting humorous programs for groups throughout the city.
In 1994 Gervais and Frank moved to Natchitoches where she was active in The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Friends of the Natchitoches Parish Library and the Natchitoches Beekeepers.
A private graveside service will be held.
