Joseph Edward Gibson of Robeline, LA was born Friday, July 14, 1950 in Natchitoches, LA to 
Joseph Andrew Gibson, Jr. and Naomi Nelson Gibson from Robeline, LA.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene Gibson; paternal grandparents, Joseph Andrew Gibson, Sr. and Annie Marie Ringer Gibson; maternal grandparents, Rupert Nelson and Susie Jordan Nelson. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Dillard Gibson of Robeline, LA; son, Joseph Clint Gibson of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Whitney Gibson Hendon and husband Joseph of Robeline, LA; son, Zachary Edward Gibson and wife Lacey of Robeline, LA; six grandchildren: Landon Hendon, Maddie Hendon, Payton Hendon, Carley Hendon, Conner Anthony, and Reid Anthony; two sisters, Betty Broadway and husband Garland and Dorthy Gibson; two brothers, David Gibson and wife Tina and Joey Allen and wife Alisha; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Ed, as he was called by fellow employees, was a retired service technician of 35 years. He began his career at South Central Bell then Bellsouth then finally AT&T in the Natchitoches, Sabine and Winn Parishes.  Ed started his career with AT&T as an installer then went to cable repair on outside buried cable.  Ed was a man of many talents. He was a cattle rancher in and around Robeline his whole life. His passion was raising cattle, cutting and rolling hay and just being on a tractor. He was a member of Natchitoches Parish Fair Board where he served as past president. He enjoyed serving the people of Natchitoches Parish by helping to provide a safe and fun place for families to take their children. 

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in different capacities. Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all. He will be greatly missed.  The family would like to thank Many Healthcare and Rehabilitation where he was a resident for 2 years, for loving and caring for “Gibby” during that time. Thanks to Superior Hospice for their exceptional care in the family’s time of need. 

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 10 a.m at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Joseph Hendon officiating.  Burial followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation began on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 5 p.m. at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA. Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Danny Lacaze, Landon Hendon, Payton Hendon, Adam Dillard, Blake McNeely, and William Ammons. Honorary pallbearers, Conner Anthony and Reid Anthony.
