Demons fall in series final with UIW

On a day where a typically offensive ballpark played to the pitchers, the Northwestern State baseball team came out on the wrong end of a pitchers duel. The Demons could not solve UIW right-handers Hunter Hargett and Dave Johnson while the Cardinals took advantage of their offensive opportunities and completed a three-game Southland Conference sweep with a 5-0 win Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Field.

Celebrate Local Day is Saturday

Just ahead of Small Business Week, the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Northwestern State University Athletics to host Celebrate Local Day at NSU Baseball. Local businesses are invited to set up vendor booths with samples, handouts, experiences and more at the April 27 home baseball game vs. Houston Christian.

Giving Day 2024 set for May 15

In less than a month, Northwestern State athletics fans will be able to send their Demons into summer with a little boost. The NSU Athletic Department has set May 15 as its annual Giving Day as a way to assist its studentathletes’ success on and off the field.

In softball Select Division IV #7 seed St. Mary’s, was set to play #2 seed Catholic Pointe Coupe Friday night at 5 p.m. at Hornet Park in the Quarterfinals. A win puts the Tigers in the semi-finals against the winner of #3 seed Riverside Academy and #6 seed acred Heart.
