The Town of Sibley and Mayor Robert Smart hosted the third Small Town Mayors’ Conference at the Minden Civic Center drawing over 100 municipal leaders from 56 Louisiana villages and towns including Village of Natchez Mayor Patsy Ward Hoover and Village of Provencal Mayor Daniel Gongre.

Honoring civil rights cold case journalist Stanley Nelson

The LSU Manship School of Mass Communication will celebrate the life and work of Louisiana journalist Stanley Nelson at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The event, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., is open to the public.
