Valentine theme shapes Lesche meeting for February

The Lesche Club of Natchitoches gathered for its regular monthly meeting on Feb. 2 at the First Presbyterian Church, and the evening proved to be a delightful blend of fellowship, music and fascinating history.

A love fund for Richard Adkins has been established at City Bank and Trust, Natchitoches, to help with out-of-pocket expenses related to his hospice care. Richard is known and cared for by many people from all walks of life and from all over town, especially in the music community.

Bonita Grace Moses, a native of Natchitoches, was not only the youngest sibling but also the only girl, along with four brothers, born to Elena Moses.She was reared by her mother and her grandmother Georgiana Moses, in a small three-room house.Today, Moses is an author, teacher and mother of three.

The unveiling of the newest Natchitoches in Bloom sculpture, Magnolia, honoring the story and legacy of Steel Magnolias took place Thursday at Susan Harling Robinson Memorial Park located at the corner of Pine and Cypress streets.

Spring dance concert set

NSU's Department of Theatre and Dance presents its spring dance concert, Dancescapes, in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium Feb. 19-21.. Performance time is 7:30 p.m. each evening with a 2 p.m. performance on Feb 21 Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children and senior citizens.
