SWEPCO sends 250 employees to Ohio to help with damage

More than 250 Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) employees from across the company’s Ark-La-Tex service territory made the roughly 17-hour journey to Ohio to assist sister company AEP Ohio with power restoration efforts.

The Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival Pageant will be Sept. 5.The Basic entry fee if $55; Teen Miss and Ms. entry fees are $75.The age ranges are from0 to Ms. and winners will receive custom crowns and banners.There will be a $500 scholarship for the Miss queen at the end of her reign.

Nurse and nurse educator retires from Northwestern

Dr. Linda Nichols was feted with a retirement party in thanks for more than 23 years of service to Northwestern State University’s Leesville-Fort Polk campus. It was a capstone to a long career in hands-on nursing and nursing education.
