City of Natchitoches Recreation & Parks Department announces Basketball Registration for ages 5 through 14 is open for the 2025-2026 season. In house registration is Monday, Nov. 3-5 at 660 MLK Dr.; online registration is Monday, Nov. 3 -Sunday, Dec. 7, at https://secure.rec1.

Bank has love fund for Richard Adkins

A love fund for Richard “Dickie” Adkins has been established at City Bank and Trust, Natchitoches, to help with out-of-pocket expenses related to his hospice care. Richard is known and cared for by many people from all walks of life and from all over town, especially in the music community.

Schools, education center planning Veterans Day events

The Natchitoches Central High School Army J.R.O.T.C. will be hosting their Annual Veteran’s Day Program on Monday, Nov. 10, from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. in the main gym. The Battalion is also providing light refreshments and snacks from 8 to 9 a.m. a.m.

Supporting Vet Tech program

Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals presented a $22,500 donation to the NSU Foundation to support the FAUNA Vet Tech Endowed Scholarship. The presentation concluded a public lecture at NSU that highlighted the connection between animal cruelty and violent crimes.
