The Lambertown Cemetery Homecoming will be Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Shamrock Advent Christian Church on Shamrock Loop of Hwy. 120 Homecoming will begin with a devotion at 10 a.m. followed by a business meeting at 11 a.m. Dinner on the grounds will follow the business meeting.

NSU awards Nth degree to NRMC CEO Kirk Soileau

Early voting remains steady, ends Saturday

As of press time on Friday morning, 764 local voters have gone to the polls in the Oct. 11 election. Early voting continues through Oct. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Natchitoches Parish Registrar of Voters Office at 200 Church St.

City updates street maintenance

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the City of Natchitoches announces revisions to the schedule released for upcoming construction work on East Fifth Street and Woodyard Drive.The closure of East Fifth Street from Royal Street to just north of Bienville Street has been re-scheduled to Monday, Oct. 6.

Sheriff’s Office has active shooter training for L.P. Vaughn

As part of LP Vaughn Elementary School’s ongoing safety planning and preparedness initiatives, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Office presented Texas State University’s nationally recognized Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training to teachers and staff on Wednesday morning.
