Cane River Waterway Commission posts agenda for Aug. 18 meeting

The Cane River Waterway Commission will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, at 1483 Hwy. 119 in Natchez, Louisiana.The commission, pursuant to RS 42:14/42:19A, will allow a public comment period prior to action on an agenda item upon which a vote is to be taken.

LSU AgCenter will offer beginning beekeeping at Library in four sessions

Learn the fundamentals of successful beekeeping at the upcoming Beginning Beekeeping series hosted by LSU AgCenter.The first meeting takes place Monday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Natchitoches Parish Library.The four- part series is designed for beginners, with no prior experience required.

Phlebotomy tech training class to begin Sept 8 at NSU

A phlebotomy technician training class will be offered by Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Engagement in Natchitoches starting Sept. 8. The class will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Registration now open for fall semester of Music Academy

- Registration has opened for the fall semester of the NSU Music Academy. Lessons begin on Monday, Aug. 24.The NSU Music Academy provides private lessons in piano, guitar, percussion and voice for students ages six and up on the campus of Northwestern State University.
