Painting course will be in August

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Engagement will offer a Pick Up Your Brush painting classes Aug. 13.In these classes, students learn the art of painting using step-bystep instructions to create a masterpiece of their own.

FAUNA will host bath day for dogs Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Tractor Supply at 345 South Drive.Baths are $10 for dogs, over 60 pounds $15, nails $10 and anal glands $10. State Farm and Cane’s are also sponsors.

NSU will offer Notary Exam prep course Aug. 17-Oct. 15

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Engagement will offer a Notary Public Exam Prep class starting Aug. 17. Early bird registration is available through July 28 at a cost of $499. After July 28, registration will continue through Aug. 11 at a cost of $519.

Cajun Navy deploys to Texas to help with swift water rescue and recovery

Cajun Navy 2016 has deployed a team of trained volunteers to Kerr County, Texas, to assist local officials with swift water rescue and recovery operations following catastrophic flooding in the Center Point area.
