Department of Health advising that Nara Organics Formula being recalled

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is advising parents, caregivers, and health care providers that Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula is recalling its infant formula because it may be contaminated with the bacteria Clostridium botulinum, which can make infants sick.

Natchitoches Parish students soar in performance on LEAP

The LEAP results released last week are from the 2025-2026 school year. Students across the State improved or maintained Mastery+ in 28 of the 31 grades and courses assessed by LEAP (90%).According to the new state data.

Saline Lake drawdown will begin on or about July 13 for 8 feet

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), in conjunction with the Saline Game and Fish Preserve Commission, has scheduled a drawdown of Saline Lake (Natchitoches and Winn Parishes) for giant salvinia control, organic reduction, and fish habitat improvement.

United Way Day of Caring draws 400 participants

More than 400 participants united across Northwest Louisiana on Thursday, May 14, helping local nonprofit organizations save an estimated $55,691.88 in labor costs during United Way of Northwest Louisiana’s (UWNWLA) annual Day of Caring, presented in part by Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.
