Nursing students go hands-on for Kiwanis Club members

A class of Northwestern State University nursing students in firstlevel clinicals and Associate Professor of Nursing Dr. Shaun Wheat spoke to the Natchitoches Kiwanis Club March 12 to discuss their experiences with hands-on nursing and applying textbook knowledge to a real clinical setting.

There’s so much basketball on television right now that JT has ended up watching some games he couldn’t give a hoot about. BUT…there have been some exciting finishes.Even the two LSU victories...although not even close…were exciting games for JT.

Texas St. closure

The City of Natchitoches has announced Texas Street (LA-1 Business route) will be closed to all traffic at address 1539 beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, for emergency sewer repairs. Southbound through traffic must detour around the work site via the LA-1 Bypass.

Juvenile struck by car

Officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Amulet St.  for  a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The crash took place  on Saturday, March 21, around 4:15 p.m.  The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was heading east on Amulet St.
