City Council adopts 2026-27 budget with one amendment

The City Council adopted the budget for 2026-27 at the Council meeting Monday.There was one amendment offered by Councilperson Eddie Harrington concerning additional revenue and expenses.The budget allows for approximately $230,000 to potentially hire an economic development consultant.

The Louisiana legislature must end its current session by 6 p.m. on Monday. (They normally are through in plenty of time.. although they have gone to the wire before so to speak.)What that means is that during these final days a lot gets done and sometimes things get undone.

Honor Quilts go to 8 veterans Memorial Day
