A grass fire was reported on Feb. 25 around 4:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of state Hwy 117 near Provencal. Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Deputies (NPSO) and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #4 responded to the scene. Deputies said the fire appears to have originated from a down utility line.
